MIKARLA Turnbull is an eight-year-old with a big heart.

She is cutting her beautiful long blonde hair and donating the proceeds to two charities she wants to support.

Mikarla set up an Everyday Hero page with funds raised to go to Crohn’s and Colitis research. Her goal was to raise $500 and she was delighted to reach her target.

“I’m inspired by my Mum who has Crohn’s but pushes on every day to raise me and my siblings,” she said.

“I hope one day there is a cure for IBD (inflammatory bowel disease).”

In the meantime she hopes awareness will create understanding.

Mikarla’s hair will be donated to Variety For Kids with Wigs. Hair Warehouse in Baldivis has offered to cut Mikarla’s hair on World IBD Day on Saturday, May 19.

Mikarla also hopes her hair will help raise the recipient’s confidence.
