Teens robbed at knife­point

CAMP­ING TRIP GOES BAD

A TEENAGER was as­saulted and an­other was threat­ened at knife point at Naval Base on Sun­day.

Po­lice said a group of teenage males, aged be­tween 15 and 18 years, set up camp at Horse Beach at 6.30pm to spend the night fish­ing.

Some­time after mid­night, a group of six to 10 men walked into the camp site and threat­ened the teenagers, de­mand­ing their fish­ing rods.

One of the men struck an 18-year-old vic­tim to the head caus­ing a lac­er­a­tion that re­quired two sta­ples to close.

A sec­ond of­fender threat­ened an­other 18year-old with a knife.

The men forced the vic­tims to lie on the ground while they searched their bags.

The men walked off with the fish­ing rods and other per­sonal prop­erty be­long­ing to the vic­tims.

The man armed with the knife was de­scribed as 20-30 years of age, fair skinned, 190-200cm tall with a large build and pro­trud­ing stom­ach, short brown hair and fa­cial stub­ble. He was wear­ing light-coloured long pants and sin­glet.

De­scrip­tion of the other men were as fol­lows:

About 19, fair skinned, 175-180cm tall, with a slim build and blonde hair, wear­ing a sin­glet and shorts;

About 25, tanned, 185-195cm tall, with a dark beard or mous­tache, wear­ing a blue hoodie and dark pants;

About 19 years, fair skinned, 165-170cm tall with long brown hair; and

The re­main­ing men were 20-25 years of age, fair skinned, wear­ing dark coloured shirts and dark coloured shorts.

De­tec­tives would like to speak to the own­ers of three cars parked in the carpark of the beach (Rise­ley Road) on the day of the in­ci­dent.

There was a white Holden Rodeo (about 1989 model) four-door, an orange Holden Com­modore SS (about 2010 model) sedan and a white Holden Land­cruiser util­ity (about a 2000 model), stick­ers on the rear, black rims and lift kit.
