Hospital unit to get Telehealth
ROCKINGHAM General Hospital’s endocrinology unit will now provide a Telehealth service.
The endocrinology unit will be the first to offer Telehealth, and it is expected that the Pre-Admission Clinic and the Community Mental Health service will soon follow.
Telehealth will give regional patients, who otherwise would have to travel for appointments, the ability to connect with their physician using digital technology.
“Telehealth makes it easier for our regional patients to connect with their specialist, and allows for reduced travel time, timely access to care and reduced inconvenience,” project manager Kerri Martyn said.
“This is the first step in our Telehealth journey at Rockingham Peel Group.
“The next step will be to implement across other specialities like community mental health.”
