This sprawling five-bedroom waterfront mansion brilliantly evokes a modern coastal style with just a tasteful hint of the Hamptons for good measure
CELIA Braun just loves her newly renovated walk-in wardrobe.
“Being a girl, it is one of the most fabulous places to be,” she said.
With high-ceilings and home to 200 pairs of Mrs Braun’s shoes, the only thing the extravagant room is missing is a chandelier.
Mrs Braun and her husband Douglas bought their waterfront home two days before Christmas in 2011.
“It was a Christmas present for our family but we had no furniture on Christmas Day,” she said.
“We wanted a house to fit the whole family, something that could be a party house when all the kids came home.”
With five ensuited bedrooms which all have private balconies, Mrs Braun said the home was designed to evoke a modern coastal style with a hint of Hamptons.
Styled by Burleigh interiors The Boho Bungalow, the white palette is brought to life with leafy botanicals, timber finishes and marble features.
“We wanted to enhance the timber and white canvas with gold,” she said.
The couple said they filled in the wall cut outs with granite, marble and glass.
“The cut outs in the hallway face opposite each other and we wanted to do something unique with them,” she said.
“We sponge painted the hallway walls with gold coloured paint to tie it all in.”
