WITH a wa­ter­front life­style, pool, spa and gym, this house is fit for an elite swim­mer. So it’s no sur­prise re­tired Olympic swim­mer Janet Blood and her hus­band Paul Blood bought the five-bed­room house that sprawls over 1073sq m in Benowa Wa­ters just over a decade ago.

Mrs Blood said her hus­band cou­pled his build­ing and plumb­ing skills to­gether to cre­ate a fam­ily house to chan­nel the “per­fect Queens­land life­style”.

“We are both swim­mers and we al­ways feel a calm­ing sense when we’re around water,” Mrs Blood said.

“My hus­band and I have been grad­u­ally ren­o­vat­ing the house over the years.

“Paul won the Master Builders award in 2008 for his work on the Mudgeer­aba In­dus­trial Park and he was con­fi­dent when it came to the house.”

The mother-of-two said the bath­room has been re-tiled and re-piped.

“Most peo­ple wouldn’t go to that ex­treme of re­design­ing a bath­room to the ex­tent we did, but we love the house and felt it was worth it,” she said.

The cou­ple also metic­u­lously land­scaped the back­yard.

The two-storey home has many lux­ury fea­tures in­clud­ing a me­dia room.
