A modern luxury house now occupies the property once owned by the wife of lost Australian Prime Minister Harold Holt
IT has a colourful history but this Broadbeach Waters property is now home to a modern abode.
Homeowner Emanuele Russo’s family bought the block in 1991.
In the 1980s it was home to the late Dame Zara Bate, fashion designer and wife of Australian Prime Minister Harold Holt.
Mr Russo said he stayed at the 850 sqm property with Ms Bate’s sons before buying the property.
“We stayed there after Zara passed away and I remember catching a lot of fish out the back and thinking ‘that’s it I’m buying this house’,” Mr Russo said.
