Family living at forefront of design

Extensively renovated 18 months ago, this Southport residence is the epitome of a contemporary family home from the spacious backyard to the large living spaces

VENDOR Michelle Currie had “four or five years” of property flipping under her belt when she came across an older house on a corner block in Southport.

“I knew I had a gem as soon as I saw it, I just fell in love with the area, it’s quiet but close to everything” Mrs Currie said.

“Especially when I went up to the roof and saw the view, I knew if we built upwards we could capture skyline views.”

True to her word, the master suite sits on the top level with a private balcony offering the spectacular vista.

The rest of the residence is just as stunning, featuring glossy black and white finishes and a magnificent pool setting.

“We normally do a modest, quick renovation but the architect went above and beyond,” Mrs Currie said.

“In saying that, I’m not a typical property flipper, it’s very much about design for me and I wanted this property to be the dream family home.”

Having welcomed a baby seven months ago and with two stepchildren, Mrs Currie and her husband knew what was required.

“Open plan living is number one, and space to put a trampoline or cubby house in, we made sure we had a beautiful lawn space.”
