Waterfront home like a private oasis

IT may look like a standard family home from the street but behind closed doors, this Helensvale property is like a holiday resort.

A tropical-style pool surrounded by Bali huts and a 14-hole mini golf green are just a few of the home’s standout features.

Sharon and Dennis Clark have lived in the waterfront home at 19 River Cove Place for eight years.

Mrs Clark said they stumbled upon the property after pulling over on the side of the road to check directions to another house inspection.

“It was like an oasis, we were just dumbfounded,” Mrs Clark said.

The two-storey house sits on a 1525sq m block and has five bedrooms and five bathrooms.

Mrs Clark said they had renovated it extensively to transform the “one-of-akind” property into their dream home.

“We just wanted to make it resort-like,” Mrs Clark said.

She said the rustic cellar was a favourite among visitors but she loved the pool area while her husband, who was a keen golfer, enjoyed the putting green most.

“It’s been a very fun house to live in — the best eight years of my life,” Mrs Clark said.

“I’m going to miss it very, very much.”
