GOLD Coast developer Phil Usher is selling his beachside haven in Mermaid Beach.

Mr Usher, who diversified into retirement villages well before the GFC and then sold his interests to a national retirement village operation, undertook a boutique three-home development in Seashell Avenue.

A Mermaid Beach resident for more than 20 years, Mr Usher has sold two and has placed the third on the market.

The Hamptons-inspired three-bedroom, two-bathroom home was designed specifically for downsizers.

“After my years in the retirement industry, I looked around Mermaid Beach and found there was not a lot of quality, free standing, freehold homes in Mermaid Beach that were suitable for downsizers,’’ said Mr Usher.

“We then found this block, which sits only 120m from the beach, and it was suitable for three homes.

“The three homes were architecturally designed with downsizers in mind.”

Mr Usher said the “Haven” was built over
