Teachers in pay rise
QUEENSLAND state school teachers have accepted a 2.5 per cent annual pay deal over three years.
Acting Premier Curtis Pitt said the deal was agreed this week and would be implemented in the next fortnight.
“That pay rise has had the support, in the ballot, of 94.3 per cent of teachers who participated in the ballot,” he said.
Mr Pitt said the deal also included provisions to reclassify teachers, which would allow more money to be paid to experienced educators.
About 47,000 education staff would be covered by the new agreement.
