Smith handed suspension
NEWCASTLE trainer Jeremy Smith has been disqualified for six months after being found guilty of two separate charges.
Yesterday, Racing NSW stewards reconvened an inquiry and found Smith guilty of assaulting another trainer, Michael Dwyer, in April.
After handing down a fourmonth ban, stewards then outed Smith for another two months for giving one of his horses an unregistered product later found to contain Procaine.
Bolwarra Ben suffered an adverse reaction to the treatment.
Smith pleaded guilty to administering the unnamed product and also to following Dwyer in his car on April 12 and then punching him.
