WHAT IS DESTINY RESCUE?

DESTINY Rescue is an international Christian-based non-profit organisation dedicated to rescuing children from human trafficking and sexual exploitation.

The organisation has been working with Outland Denim and James for five years.

Country manager for Destiny Rescue Cambodia Robert Webber said: “Jimmy and the team at Outland Denim give these girls real skills that are relevant to them and provide a career path beyond what they would otherwise have been able to consider.

“Today we see girls who work for Outland Denim with husbands, children, and meaningful work. The future for them is not as uncertain.”

Mr Webber said he had known James before their work in Cambodia.

“His father was the pastor of our church at the time we came to Cambodia in 2011. Wanting to know more about Destiny Rescue, Jim came on a trip in 2011 and we discussed how he might be able to set up a clothing line manufactured by girls we had already trained in sewing and Outland Denim was born.

“Getting a girl out of the sex trade is just the beginning. Without the opportunity of having reasonably paid work, the problem of poverty will push many girls back. Our role is to see these girls restored.”
