Big foot to happy feet
A GIANT penguin foot-bone discovered in New Zealand shows the ancestors of everyone’s favourite flightless bird waddled Earth during the age of dinosaurs, according to researchers.
That means before an asteroid wiped out non-avian dinos 65.5 million years ago, supersized penguins breathed the same air as Triceratops and the flesh-ripping Tyrannosaurus.
Standing at least 150cm tall, it probably predated its evolutionary descendants by five to 10 million years.
