Coast plane in emergency landing

A flight from Coolangatta to Sydney has had to make an emergency landing in Brisbane. The pilot noted engine problems soon after taking off from the Gold Coast on Thursday evening and diverted the plane. The Virgin Australia flight VA546 touched down in Brisbane about 10pm, with firefighters quickly on the scene.

Fears for missing Oxenford woman

Police have asked the public to help find a young woman missing from Oxenford. Melissa Craig, 20, was last seen at her home on Wednesday at about 11am and has not contacted family or friends since. She is described as caucasian, slim build, 145cm tall with brown hair and blue eyes.

Ritzy neighbours in mansion war

A feud between multimilliondollar property owners in a Gold Coast suburb has reached the Southport Planning and Environment Court. Paradise Waters residents Alexander and Wendy Baruksopulo have taken their neighbour Michael Green to court claiming he “fraudulently” built additions onto his Midshipman Ct house. The Baruksopulos have also taken the Gold Coast City Council to court claiming they failed to act fairly by granting 18 building relaxations to plans for Mr Green’s property.

What colour are these sneakers?

An optical illusion is sweeping the web. Facebook user Nicole Coulthard shared a screenshot of a trainer, but no one can decide on what colour the shoe really is. Some think it’s pink and white, others say grey and aqua. Posting on Girlsmouth, a Facebook group, Nicole shared the snap alongside the caption: “OK girls so my friend has sent me this asking what colour the shoe is, I would say pale pink and white, but she insists its pale blue and grey.
