Charges for site deaths

FOUR peo­ple and a busi­ness will face court next year over their al­leged in­volve­ment in the death of two work­ers who were crushed by a con­crete panel at Ea­gle Farm Race­course last year.

Ash­ley Mor­ris, 34, and Hum­berto Leite, 55, were killed in Oc­to­ber 2016, while work­ing around 14 tonne con­crete pan­els, which formed the walls for a drainage tank.

If found guilty, the com­pany, Criscon Pty Ltd, faces fines of up to $3 mil­lion.

The case is ex­pected to be be­fore Bris­bane Mag­is­trates Court on Jan­uary 19.
