DON YOUR BERET AND JOIN IN THE FESTIVITIES
Berets, baguettes and bubbles … what’s not to love about the French?
From croissants to crepes to cheese to champagne, it’s all on offer at the Bonjour French Festival at Broadbeach’s Pratten Park this weekend.
Featuring a gourmet market with specialist stalls to delight both Francophiles and foodies alike, as well as a dedicated wine bar featuring all the best drops from Bordeaux and beyond, do try to tear yourself away from the table to enjoy the other cultural delights of the festival.
Organisers are attempting a Guinness World Record for the biggest number of beret-wearers, so bring yours along for free entry to the festival, or purchase at the entrance for just $5.
Now in its fourth year, the Bonjour French Festival celebrates not just the cuisine but the culture of our European allies.
Held on Remembrance Day weekend this year, there will be a special service tomorrow at 12.30pm to commemorate the friendship between France and Australia as well as to pay respects to those from both countries who have given their lives in the name of freedom.
