Berets, baguettes and bub­bles … what’s not to love about the French?

From crois­sants to crepes to cheese to cham­pagne, it’s all on offer at the Bon­jour French Fes­ti­val at Broad­beach’s Prat­ten Park this week­end.

Fea­tur­ing a gourmet mar­ket with spe­cial­ist stalls to de­light both Fran­cophiles and food­ies alike, as well as a ded­i­cated wine bar fea­tur­ing all the best drops from Bordeaux and beyond, do try to tear your­self away from the table to en­joy the other cul­tural de­lights of the fes­ti­val.

Or­gan­is­ers are at­tempt­ing a Guin­ness World Record for the big­gest num­ber of beret-wear­ers, so bring yours along for free en­try to the fes­ti­val, or pur­chase at the en­trance for just $5.

Now in its fourth year, the Bon­jour French Fes­ti­val cel­e­brates not just the cui­sine but the cul­ture of our Euro­pean al­lies.

Held on Re­mem­brance Day week­end this year, there will be a spe­cial ser­vice to­mor­row at 12.30pm to com­mem­o­rate the friend­ship be­tween France and Aus­tralia as well as to pay re­spects to those from both coun­tries who have given their lives in the name of free­dom.
