Hos­pi­tal ex­pands day ser­vices

ROBINA Pri­vate Hos­pi­tal op­er­a­tor Healthe Care Aus­tralia has ex­panded its ser­vices on the Gold Coast, open­ing a day pro­ce­dures fa­cil­ity.

The pur­pose-built fa­cil­ity will de­liver in­ter­ven­tional pain pro­ce­dures, en­doscopy and oral max­illo­fa­cial surgery.

The fa­cil­ity in­cludes a re­cep­tion, an ad­mis­sions of­fice and change rooms, as well as a pre-op­er­a­tive hold­ing bay, a pro­ce­dure room, a four-bed first-stage re­cov­ery room, a dis­charge lounge and a ster­il­is­ing unit.

Robina Pri­vate Hos­pi­tal chief ex­ec­u­tive Anna Styles Tape said plans were pro­gress­ing to in­tro­duce other spe­cial­ties.

“Al­though we have just re­cently opened, pa­tient feed­back has been ex­tremely pos­i­tive. There is clear de­mand for the pro­ce­dural ser­vices we cur­rently offer and those we plan to in­tro­duce,” she said.

Robina Pri­vate Hos­pi­tal is a 90-bed men­tal health, med­i­cal and day pro­ce­dure hos­pi­tal.

Its day pro­ce­dures unit is staffed by nurs­ing and tech­ni­cal staff, and sup­ported by the other ser­vices pro­vided at the hos­pi­tal, in­clud­ing its 30-bed gen­eral med­i­cal ward.

Healthe Care’s Gold Coast port­fo­lio in­cludes Robina Pri­vate Hos­pi­tal and Cur­rumbin Clinic.

The com­pany is the Gold Coast’s largest pri­vate men­tal health provider, with a com­bined 164 men­tal health beds.

Its men­tal health ser­vices offer spe­cialised treat­ment for mood and anx­i­ety dis­or­ders, youth and young adult men­tal ill­ness, eat­ing dis­or­ders, older per­sons’ men­tal health con­cerns, peri-na­tal mood dis­or­ders and ad­dic­tive dis­or­ders.
