Airport Stan’s profits fly high
WA billionaire Stan Perron, who at 95 has hundreds of millions of dollars invested in the Gold Coast, is flying high.
His Perron Group netted $256 million in its latest year, an $11 million lift on the year earlier.
Mr Perron (pictured with wife Jean Perron and Malcolm McCusker) is the joint owner, with the Queensland Airports Ltd Infrastructure Fund, of the Gold Coast Airport — an asset that might well be drawing on his cash to pay for new terminals and air bridges.
He’s also the major stakeholder in Pacific View, a 342ha slab of Worongary that will become the city’s biggest estate.
Eighteen months ago he bought a half stake in the Runaway Bay Shopping Village — not for $160 million but $159,999,999.
