They are ex­pected to be joined by some of Aus­tralia’s big­gest pop stars, in­clud­ing Guy Se­bas­tian, Dami Im, The Veron­i­cas, Amy Shark and Sa­man­tha Jade.

Yothu Yindi and the Treaty Project and An­thony Cal­lea are also ex­pected to be in­volved in the clos­ing party.

Six dance schools will take part in the spec­ta­cle, along with a choir made up of singers from nine Gold Coast high schools.

The clos­ing cer­e­mony is the less for­mal of the two events at both Com­mon­wealth and Olympic Games meets. The open­ing cer­e­mony alone was to reach a global broad­cast of more than 1.5 bil­lion peo­ple.

Iconic singer Jimmy Barnes will be on the Gold Coast for a show at The Star but is not be­lieved to be in­volved in the clos­ing cer­e­mony.

But don’t rule out a ru­moured sur­prise ap­pear­ance by Mid­night Oil front­man Peter Gar­rett as part of to­mor­row’s fi­nale.
