New lawyer for accused

Weekend Gold Coast Bulletin - - NEWS -

THE teenager accused of murdering good Samaritan Darren Puller on Boxing Day 2016 has changed lawyers.

Alexander Craig Wharton Kirke, 18, did not appear in Southport Magistrates Court when his matter was briefly mentioned yesterday.

His Legal Aid lawyer requested to be withdrawn to be replaced by Adam Guest, of Adam Guest Lawyers.

It is alleged Kirke ran down Mr Puller after he tried to help neighbours when two men broke into a Rio Vista Boulevard unit armed with knives.

Kirke is charged with murder, assault occasioning bodily harm, unlawful use of a motor vehicle and attempted entry of a dwelling. The matter was adjourned until a committal hearing on August 6.
