Just a few minutes of meditation before a workout can give you a mood boost and reduce depression by as much as 40 per cent, a new study, from Rutgers University in the US, has found. Researchers found meditating and working out affect the same areas of the brain but in different ways. Exercise stimulates brain-cell growth, while meditation helps neurons live longer. Meditating before exercise increases focus and boosts the feel-good effects.
