1 HOW DO YOU BEGIN AND END YOUR DAY?
Every day above ground is a blessing, so I start my day with gratitude for life. I breathe it in deeply as I dedicate myself to the day. At the close of day, I review the conversations, meetings and activities to identify any unfinished threads for attention the next day. Once my head is on the pillow I breathe in a sense of peace and gratitude and I’m asleep!
2 WHAT DOES WELLBEING MEAN TO YOU?
To me, wellbeing is a state of physical, mental and spiritual vibrancy where we feel able to embrace each moment, regardless of its challenges, with a quiet mind and an open heart, bringing to everything our compassion, equanimity, insight and creativity.
3 WHAT WOULD YOU SAY TO SOMEONE WANTING TO FIND MORE MEANING IN THEIR LIFE?
Suffering often wakes us up and urges us to make meaning in our lives. But don’t wait for a‘D’ (a diagnosis, death, divorce, disaster, depression, disability…) to start making your life more meaningful. If you can’t find meaning, do something for someone else, volunteer, help a stranger, buy a homeless person a meal, then sit down and listen to them – pay it forward in some way. Meaning is found in the little things, not the grand sweeps. Love is in the detail.
4 WHERE’S YOUR HAPPY PLACE?
The present moment is the most wondrous place to be. Being present to each moment allows me to focus and attend to whatever lies before me. I live in my happy place. For a free MP3 of Petrea’s Coming To Your Senses short guided meditation, go to questforlife.com.au
