I Want up to three times more suc­cess stick­ing to a new habit? Write down your in­ten­tion and read it daily, ac­cord­ing to re­search pub­lished in the Bri­tish Journal of Health Psy­chol­ogy. In the study, par­tic­i­pants were asked to fill in the state­ment: “Dur­ing the next week, I will par­take in at least 20 min­utes of vig­or­ous ex­er­cise on [day] at [time of day] at/in [place].” By read­ing their in­ten­tion ev­ery day, 91 per cent of the group fol­lowed through, com­pared with only 38 per cent of the con­trol group.
