Pro­fes­sor Robert Sch­weitzer says par­tic­i­pa­tion ac­tu­ally “fa­cil­i­tates more pos­i­tive psy­cho­log­i­cal ex­pe­ri­ences and hu­man val­ues such as hu­mil­ity, har­mony, creativ­ity and a vi­tal sense of self that en­riches ev­ery­day life”. Ad­ding some ex­cite­ment to your work­outs keeps things in­ter­est­ing, but you don’t have to go bungee jump­ing – think ski­ing, scuba div­ing or even trail walk­ing.
