Sum­mer al­ways puts a smile on my face. I in­stantly think of be­ing out­doors with friends on long, warm evenings and en­joy­ing good com­pany and food with a glass or two of good wine.

Out­door con­certs are al­ways great fun – it’s so easy to make a gourmet pic­nic that’s de­li­cious but also very healthy. Sum­mer is also when I love to head to the beach, so lots of fruit in the esky is a must. Peaches, plums, apri­cots and grapes are favourites for me and my fam­ily and friends.

Sum­mer is also the sea­son for bar­be­cues. Steaks, chicken ke­babs or seafood are a sta­ple, with a fresh, colour­ful salad. It’s one of my favourite sum­mer­time meals.

Longer evenings also make walks af­ter din­ner the per­fect end­ing to a great day.
