A cuppa health

Weight Watchers Magazine (Australia) - - Food//Fit//Feel -

Just in case you need another reason to put the kettle on, according to a new study, certain tea varieties promote the growth of healthy gut bacteria which contribute to good health and might also support weight loss. In a lab-based study, US researchers found that extracts from both green and black tea alter the makeup of intestinal microbes, so that the volume of bacteria associated with obesity decreased, while the presence of bacteria linked with lean body mass grew. So grab a cuppa – it’s not only a great way to take a break, it might even be beneficial for your weight loss!
