Show has new commercial manager
THE Royal Agricultural Society (RAS) has recruited Mark Zandans as its new commercial manager.
With a history of corporate, government and not-for-profit sectors, Mr Zandans is responsible for all venue and event management, including overseeing this year’s Perth Royal Show.
Mr Zandans said it would be a great opportunity to build the event that attracts more than 450,000 visitors each year.
“It is something families and kids look forward to every year,” he said.
As manager Mr Zandans said his primary focus would be to connect better with the community.
“A significant portion of my role is maintaining our roots,” he said.
He would play a role in the recently announced concept plan for the Claremont Showground, including its design and what opportunities would exist when delivering their events.
“It is a very exciting time for this area in general,” he said.
“However, we need to make sure that we provide for our whole community – not only with Claremont, but with the wider community of Western Australia.”
Chief executive Peter Cooper said Mr Zandans would contribute to the organisation with his wide experience overseeing major international sporting and entertainment events.
Mark Zandans has been appointed RAS commercial manager.
