Local helps to claim WA record

Western Suburbs Weekly - - News -

COTTESLOE resident Courtney Smith gave away 4486 burritos and bowls – a West Australian record – at the opening of Guzman Y Gomez in Mt Lawley last Thursday.

The effort beats the 4400 burritos given away at the Northbridge Mexican venue’s opening 18 months ago but a Gold Coast store still holds the Australian record of 6300. Guzman Y Gomez founder Steven Marks flew over from Bondi for the launch, along with about 50 staff, to cope with the line of people anticipating the free burritos.
