Captain keeps team on toes
DAVIS Cup captain Pat Rafter sent home the Australian fitness trainer last week.
Coach Josh Eagle revealed at a Cottesloe Tennis Club President’s Breakfast at Royal Freshwater Bay Yacht Club last Wednesday that the trainer left, when describing how tough his captain was on the team.
“He’s very tough on the guys especially,” Eagle said. “He has high standards on and off the court and he’s not afraid to make tough decisions.” FORMER Davis Cup player John Alexander reminded 2014 team member Sam Groth of a hand-written letter he received from him about 12 years ago.
