PAIR CHARGED OVER COUNTERFEIT
IT will be investigated if fake $50 notes used in Subiaco bars and a newsagent in July are connected to an alleged counterfeit currency racket, after Kensington Detectives raided a Rivervale hotel room last Thursday. It will be alleged $6340 in $50 and $100 counterfeits, and $2515 of genuine currency, were in the room. The man and woman, both 32 and from Carlisle, were charged with possessing and manufacturing counterfeits, having counterfeit machinery, fraud, possessing amphetamine and possessing stolen or unlawfully obtained property. They were bailed to appear in the Perth Magistrates Court on October 16.
