TATA has added a host of new features - and doubled the safety rating - to its range of Xenon utes.

All new Xenons now get electronic stability control, traction control, hill hold control, drag torque control, hydraulic brake assist, and electronic brakeforce distribution, and the stability unit alone has booted the handsome ute's safety rating to four stars.

It's all due to Tata Motors Tough Cover, an ownership program unique to light commercial vehicles under $30,000 and includes a four-year/100,000km warranty, capped-price servicing and roadside assistance.

All Xenons are powered by a Euro 5 emission compliant 2.2 litre twin-cam 16 valve turbo diesel producing 110kW/320Nm that averages 7.4litres/100km.

It has a 1080kg payload and a 2500kg towing capacity.

Inside, the Xenon features cloth trim, aircon, Bluetooth, power windows, USB input with iPod connectivity, remote central locking with dual cab models also have satnav and a reversing camera as standard.

Tata Motors is the world's fourth largest bus and fifth largest truck maker.

Xenon prices start from $22,990 drive away for the 4x2 single cab chassis with alloy tray.

The dual cab is one of Tata's high-spec Xenon utes, with a range of new features.
