WHEN con­sid­er­ing favourite things, two that make the list for many women are choco­late and fash­ion.

Fre­man­tle Choco­late choco­latier Katya Oots has merged the two, cre­at­ing a life- size choco­late hand­bag that won gold in the Choco­late Show Piece cat­e­gory of the Clare­mont-based Perth Royal Dairy Show re­cently.

Not happy with one ac­co­lade, Fre­man­tle Choco­late also won another seven gold and three sil­ver awards, cap­ping it all off with the Cham­pion Choco­late award.

Fre­man­tle Choco­late’s An­drew Wy­ers said they were ex­cited to win 12 awards this year from 13 en­tries.

“We are ex­tremely proud of our team and all their hard work,” he said.

“It is very re­ward­ing to see all the team’s great ef­forts recog­nised against the com- pe­ti­tion in each cat­e­gory and to come away with the over­all cham­pion was the grand­est of treats for us.

“We love to en­ter the Perth Royal Dairy Show awards as it is great en­cour­age­ment for the team and a re­ward­ing way to showcase our lo­cal tal­ents.”

O’Con­nor’s Az­zura Ge­lati was also recog­nised, win­ning gold for its Amarena Cherry flavour and sil­vers for Choco­late Truf­fle and Vanilla Bean.
