Exhibition of treasures from Afghanistan extended
THE WA Museum has extended the season of exhibition Afghanistan: Hidden Treasures from the National Museum, Kabul until January 18.
The exhibition showcases treasures once thought to be lost to the world and contains more than 200 rare and beautiful objects dating back to the Bronze Age, from a place once at the crossroads of the world’s great civilisations.
WA Museum chief executive Alec Coles said he was pleased more West Australians would get the chance to see the exhibition over the Christmas and New Year holiday period.
“I would go as far to say that this is one of the most extraordinary exhibitions that we have ever shown at the WA Museum,” he said.
