Baby boom at St John a record

MORE than 10,000 ba­bies have been born across St John of God Health Care cam­puses na­tion­ally in the past year, a record for the or­gan­i­sa­tion.

An av­er­age 30 ba­bies have been born a day across the nine ma­ter­nity units na­tion­ally and passed the 10,000 mark last Thurs­day with 15 born in Su­bi­aco, in­clud­ing Pippa Wise­would and Leo Menezies.

All ba­bies born last Thurs­day re­ceived a gift.

About 3600 ba­bies are ex­pected to be born at the 116-year-old Su­bi­aco hos­pi­tal and 1500 at Mt Law­ley.
