Mr Barnett said he was putting on the apron as kitchen hand to his wife Lynne on Christmas Eve.
“Christmas Eve is the one big time in the year that I catch up with my family with lots of nice food, lots of nice drinks and things,” he said.
As for his New Year’s resolution, Mr Barnett said he was determined to finish building a stone barbecue at his family farm.
“I made a bit of a mistake because it’s a bit oversized, so it’s like I’m building a gothic cathedral. I’ve started, I’ve done the foundations and that’s my objective, to finish it properly,” he said.
