Subiaco to appeal decision
SUBIACO will return to the Supreme Court to appeal its failed litigation against the State Government mergers process in either March or April 2015, says chief executive Stephen Tindale.
Mr Tindale said the City lodged its appeal on December 15 and expected to receive a response in January.
He said their appeal argued that Chief Justice Wayne Martin “erred in the decisions he made on three grounds” at the November 25 hearing.
“Among a good number of elected members and community members, the conflict of interest argument holds a lot of sway,” he said.
“The Chief Justice's decision basically says: ‘It's okay to have government employees on supposedly independent advisory boards that have a sole role to promote local government reform’.
“That just does not ring true.”
