TRESPASS CHARGES FOR TRIO
COTTESLOE police have charged three people with trespassing at the unfinished Oswals mansion in Peppermint Grove, which the council continues to seek to have demolished because of public safety. Senior Sergeant Neil Morton-Smith said two women and a man will be summonsed to appear at court after they were found by officers in the Bay View Terrace mansion’s compound overnight last Thursday. Council chief executive John Merrick said the Oswals paid $58,000 for the mansion’s 2010-11 and 2011-12 rates last week. Peppermint Grove plans to seek permission to demolish the building after it was declared uninhabitable.
