NEDLANDS councillors unanimously agreed to submit a proposal to the Local Government Advisory Board to align an “orphaned” portion of Mt Claremont within the City of Nedlands. At the special council meeting last Friday, the council report said the Subiaco-Cambridge amalgamation would result in Nedlands losing 424 properties and about 1272 residents in Floreat, and create a “boundary anomaly” in Mt Claremont. It said the proposed boundary adjustment to include Mt Claremont in Nedlands would partially compensate for its loss of more than 400 rateable properties.
