2015 Year 12 students could learn a lot from the 2014 batch of high achievers. Students interviewed by this newspaper’s reporters last week talked of getting plenty of sleep, regular exercise and consistent studying rather than cramming. They also made time to socialise with friends and ate a healthy diet. Few admitted to being stressed during exams, just when they were accessing results. There’s so much pressure on teenagers outside of their schoolwork, it’s good to hear them trying different methods to remain calm, live a balanced life and succeed. These are the students this year’s classes need to hear about. They are the role models that present Year 12 students can and will learn from. Teachers and professionals are backed up by studies and past experience but this bunch of high achievers are armed with fresh knowledge and examples of what really works.
