A MOPED, two TVs, a washing machine and baby furniture are among thieves’ $17,000 haul after a trailer was driven to a Kimberley Street house between 11pm on December 27 and 5pm on January 2. Police said about 11pm on December 27, neighbours reported a four-cylinder car and trailer in the driveway “moving items out of the premises” but officers’ subsequent search failed to find anything suspicious at the house, which was vacant while its owners were on holiday. A later visit by the owners’ daughter discovered the items had been stolen.
A NORANDA man (24) was found by police unconscious on Railway Road, opposite West Leederville train station, after he was assaulted about 1.30am on January 1. Police said a Quinns Rock man (29) with a broken nose said there had been a fight when the Noranda man tried to board a private bus. Two other men seen by police running along nearby Kimberley Street were arrested but later released because the suspected victims would not press charges.
