New agent on block
THE new agent for Cottesloe’s historic Tukurua mansion denies the $25 million or more asking price for the 21-room home is a half-price cut from the $57 million mooted when the property went on the market last July.
“It’s not really, as it’s ‘offers above’,” Claremontbased Mint real estate director Peter Clements said.
Mr Clements’ two-year-old company will take over the 1896-built beachside property’s sale next month after a previous contract with another agent finished.
Tukurua owner Ted Smith was bequeathed the house by former owner Dorothea Cass in 1994.
Mr Clement said his selling campaign would concentrate on the mansion’s beauty for its possible first sale in 118 years. Previous campaigns had promoted the ability to subdivide the 5001sq m block at the Rosendo Street Marine Parade intersection.
Prospective buyers have until “the first or second week of March” to make their offers.
