Ac­tors set­ting The Stan­dard

RE­HEARSALS are in full swing for Black Swan State The­atre Company’s Glen­garry Glen Ross and seven male cast mem­bers en­joyed pints at The Stan­dard – a new BSSTC spon­sor – after a full day in the the­atre last week.

The star-stud­ded cast in­cludes Damien Wal­she-Howl­ing ( Un­der­belly, Blue Heel­ers) and co­me­dian-ac­tor Peter Row­sthorn, whose chil­dren at­tend the same school as the bar’s owner, John Walker.

Perth ac­tors Luke Hewitt, Ben Mort­ley, Will O‘Ma­hony, Ken­neth Ran­som and Steve Turner joined the duo last Thurs­day.

Free­man said the duo needed a project un­til work on the down­stairs area, in­clud­ing a 15m-long bar, is com­pleted in April.

So they em­barked on cre­at­ing The Sherry – an in­ti­mate space with a sherry-themed drinks menu and limited of­fer­ings of other drinks and food to keep it sim­ple.

The duo are also try­ing their hand at mak­ing ver­mouth.
