Actors setting The Standard
REHEARSALS are in full swing for Black Swan State Theatre Company’s Glengarry Glen Ross and seven male cast members enjoyed pints at The Standard – a new BSSTC sponsor – after a full day in the theatre last week.
The star-studded cast includes Damien Walshe-Howling ( Underbelly, Blue Heelers) and comedian-actor Peter Rowsthorn, whose children attend the same school as the bar’s owner, John Walker.
Perth actors Luke Hewitt, Ben Mortley, Will O‘Mahony, Kenneth Ransom and Steve Turner joined the duo last Thursday.
Freeman said the duo needed a project until work on the downstairs area, including a 15m-long bar, is completed in April.
So they embarked on creating The Sherry – an intimate space with a sherry-themed drinks menu and limited offerings of other drinks and food to keep it simple.
The duo are also trying their hand at making vermouth.
