Su­bi­aco man on drugs charges

A SU­BI­ACO man al­legedly sold methy­lam­phetamine and heroin be­fore po­lice searched his Thomas Street home at 5.25pm last Thurs­day.

“Through­out the search war­rant nu­mer­ous per­sons at­tended the ad­dress car­ry­ing cash, but no other prop­erty,” Se­nior Sergeant Kate Vi­vian said.

It will be al­leged 17.09g of a crys­tal-type drug, sus­pected to be methy­lam­phetamine, was in the man’s trouser pock­ets, in ad­di­tion to $2923, $550 un­der a car­pet and $1085 in his bed­room.

The man (55) was charged with pos­sess­ing methy­lam­phetamine with in­tent to sell or sup­ply, and pos­sess­ing stolen or un­law­fully ob­tained prop­erty, re­gard­ing the cash.

The man was bailed to ap­pear at Perth Mag­is­trates Court on Fe­bru­ary 6, when he faces an ad­di­tional charge of pos­sess­ing 10g of heroin al­legedly found at the house dur­ing the search.

Snr Sgt Vi­vian said the search re­sulted from a “proac­tive” in­ves­ti­ga­tion by her sta­tion’s Con­sta­ble Paul Don­nel­lan which would con­tinue after in­for­ma­tion was ob­tained by of­fi­cers at the man’s home.
