THE most iconic Australia Day celebration in Perth is undoubtedly the City of Perth Australia Day Skyworks. It offers a day packed full of entertainment and activities for all ages, with the Langley Park Entertainment Zone open from 3pm, featuring an assortment of activities for the whole family before the pyrotechnics display at 8pm. Look to the sky during the afternoon for an aviation spectacle featuring vintage aircraft, jets, planes in formation and helicopters. Grab something to eat at the popular Hawkers Market, with the special Australia Day edition offering an array of fabulous international flavours at Langley Park or if you prefer something quintessentially Australian, there will also be a tasty barbecue on offer. If you can’t make it to Langley Park, grab a picnic and head to one of the many other spots in Kings Park or along the foreshore. Just make sure you are looking up come 8pm when the spectacular fireworks and laser display takes over the sky.
