WHEN this news­pa­per’s health re­porter Emily Baker grad­u­ated among 400 peers from Church­lands Se­nior High School, her name was not as common as oth­ers.

Only one other Emily was called out when the now 22-year-old fin­ished high school. But last year 204 girls were named Emily – the most popular name of the year ahead of Ava (199), Char­lotte (186) and 2013’s top name Olivia (181).
