DISTANCE GIVES SPACE FOR SAFETY TO MOVE

Western Suburbs Weekly - - Streetwatch -

LEAVING a safe distance between your car and the one in front is paramount. You must allow enough space to avoid a crash if the vehicle in front of you brakes suddenly. Tailgating is one of the top causes of minor and serious motor vehicle crashes in WA, closely aligned with inattention. Judging distances and speeds of moving traffic is not an easy task. Taking that bit of extra care will greatly reduce your risk of crashing. Failure to keep a safe distance behind vehicles is a $200 fine and two demerit points. - Sergeant Mish Iskra.
