Man re­manded in cus­tody af­ter spate of in­ci­dents

VIN­TAGE guns, jew­ellery and elec­tron­ics worth more than $18,000 were al­legedly stolen by a Karrinup man (22) from a Peasholm Street, City Beach home be­tween De­cem­ber 26 and Jan­uary 1.

Kens­ing­ton de­tec­tives ar­rested the man in Burswood about 7.25pm on Jan­uary 23.

It will be al­leged the man was the pas­sen­ger of a Pro­ton car when he used a hand­gun, not from the bur­glary, to threaten a woman (60) driv­ing the ve­hi­cle on Kent Street, Bent­ley about 5pm the pre­vi­ous day.

Po­lice said the man and the woman, whose re­la­tion­ship was un­clear, had a phys­i­cal ar­gu­ment in the car.

The ar­gu­ment ended with the man driv­ing off in the ve­hi­cle and the woman left on the verge with mi­nor in­juries that were treated at Royal Perth Hos­pi­tal.

It will also be al­leged the man stole a black Hyundai i35 from a busi­ness at Di­vi­sion Street in Welsh­pool about 9am on Jan­uary 11, be­fore the Hyundai was found aban­doned at a ho­tel car park in Scarborough on Jan­uary 21.

The man was charged with be­ing armed in a way that may cause fear, bur­glary, steal­ing, steal­ing a mo­tor ve­hi­cle and pos­sess­ing a smok­ing im­ple­ment.

He was re­manded in cus­tody to reap­pear at Perth Mag­is­trates Court on Fe­bru­ary 18.
