THE Boulevard and Howtree Place intersection in Floreat is being upgraded after it was identified as one of the most dangerous intersections in Cambridge.
A $500,000 grant for safety improvement works under the Federal Government’s Blackspot Program has enabled work to start on the busy intersection.
Cambridge Mayor Simon Withers said the intersection had been a concern for many years.
“The way people treat the intersection makes it more dangerous,” he said.
“People might think these changes aren’t significant but they are and have been assessed by road safety experts to work.
“There is only so much money we can put towards road works.

There will be some disruption to traffic as lanes are closed to facilitate the road works.
