Some positives in away losses

Western Suburbs Weekly - - Sport -

After a hard-fought second half, the Rangers ended up edging ahead of the Waves by seven points.

Post-game, the Waves went straight to Melbourne airport and on to a flight to Adelaide.

On Sunday morning, the Waves faced a confident Adelaide Lighting outfit. Again, it was a fight to half-time. Staying in the game and looking to be in good shape, the Waves went into the main break down but confident.

Moore raked in 10 points and Cassie Harberts was her usual solid self, putting up six points and six rebounds.

Louella Tomlinson returned for her first game back after injuring an ankle before Christmas and came away with a solid 10 points and eight rebounds.

The second half was like a repeat of most of the disappointing Waves losses.

The Lightning went on a scoring run, pushing the lead out to 21 and came away with a 71-58 win.

With two home games remaining for the season, the Waves obviously are seeking to win both.

Finishing the season off on a positive is a must for all involved, in particular our great home crowd.

Next week we look to do this, taking on the Sydney Flames at home on Saturday evening.
