Storms fail to stop PIAF ballet event

Western Suburbs Weekly - - Your Favourite Things -

STORMS leading up to the opening night of Ballet at the Quarry meant technical rehearsals were cancelled but the opening event for the Perth International Arts Festival went off without a hitch – as far as the audience could see – last Friday.

WA Ballet artistic director Aurelien Scannella said the team had a tough week in the “Aussie weather”.

He said it was also important to see his wife Sandy Delasalle on stage during the evening.

“Two years ago she left everything for me, so this was a present for you and to thank you,” he said.

Chief executive Steven Roth also promised guests that Zip Zap Zoom would be as big as The Giants PIAF event.
